Supporting Parents

Parenthood is an amazing journey but let’s be honest for most people it is a roller-coaster of highs and lows emotionally, physically and financially.  Parent support counselling aims to support parents on their parenting journey.

As humans we all want the same things, we want:

  • To be loved
  • To belong and feel connected
  • To feel safe
  • Have our physical and emotional needs met

Some traditional models of parenting, family structure and communication created friction and rebellion. We work to help you find a way that suits you to be the parents you want to be and raise happy, healthy and well adjusted kids.

We aim to help families develop positive communication techniques and a broader understanding of needs for the parent and child and of a parenting style that creates harmony, co-operation and strong bonds. No parent starts their journey wanting to have disharmony and chaos that can potentially end in the family growing apart and only seeing each other at a forced Christmas get together or worse not at all.

Our parent support service provides ongoing support to parents and carers to understand their child and their behaviours and support their children in a way that the unwanted behaviour is resolved, creating a space to then be able to support the child to get on track for a healthy, successful life free of crime, drugs, and school challenges.

We also support new mums with issues such as feeding, sleep and developing routines.

Our parenting specialist has a strong passion for enriching the lives of parents and children supporting them for over 20 years to build strong relationships and support them through challenges and issues they may be facing. Our specialist has gained experience and knowledge working as a nanny, a child educator in child care centres and also through her counselling practice and own life experience as a mother of two.

Our parenting specialist and counsellor majored in child development and effective parenting whilst studying counselling and holds a current blue card and first-aid certificate.
